Vorabinfos

Allgemeines

  • tank selection based on maps in team battles – in patch 9.2 or 9.3 [1]
  • hangar puts a lot of strain on the videocard, Storm states it will be optimized (in 9.1/9.2) [2]
  • Storm confirms that there will be XP recieved for “tanking” (soaking up damage by your armor, protecting your allies), this might appear either in 9.1 or 9.2 [3]
  • apparently, new clan functions will appear in 9.1 [4]
  • new UI is in testing, the interface will be simplified and the interfaces of various modes unified [5]

AFK/Bot-Erkennung

  • new anti-bot system is being developed for half a year already [6]
  • a captcha system might appear in WoT [7]
    • the captcha system, mentioned by Evilly would be like “if the amount of battles per day exceeds X, you will have to type captcha code before you can enter a battle”, this is just a concept – not a final decision [8]
  • there will be a new system to punish those, who leave battle early: if a player leaves the battle before his vehicle is destroyed, he will not be able to join other battle on another vehicle until the first battle is over [9]
  • a system will be introduced, where AFK players, that move very little (this condition is made softer for slow vehicles), deal 0 damage and meet many more conditions, will recieve 0 XP and credits [10] [11]

Sound

  • new engine/track sounds will not come in 9.0, 9.0 test will have new engine sounds, but for feedback purposes only, new sounds will be released in 9.1 or 9.2 [12]
  • the sounds of turret turning and of switching transmission gears will come in 9.1-9.2, reworked sound will most likely come for all tanks at once [13]
  • two vehicles will have their engine sounds changed in the 9.1 test – Hellcat and Jackson [14]
  • the sound will be generally reworked a lot in 9.1 [15]
  • Storm confirms that the sounds in 9.1 will be reworked significantly, shooting sounds were completely reworked, furthermore on the test, two vehicles will have their soundsets (engine, track sounds) totally reworked in order for the developers to gather feedback [16]
  • in 9.1 it will be the second time shooting sounds will get reworked [17]
  • there will be no new big features in 9.1, WG is still dealing with fixing the issues from 9.0, there will be new shooting sounds though [18]
  • gun sound in 9.1 will be reworked to resemble realistic sound, not “Hollywood” [19]
  • new engine/track sounds will not come in 9.0, 9.0 test will have new engine sounds, but for feedback purposes only, new sounds will be released in 9.1 or 9.2 [20]

Physikengine

  • according to SerB (from Kubinka), first elements of Havok (destructable buildings, realistic destruction of walls) should come in 9.2 [21]
  • vehicles turning on their roof and Havok will appear most likely in 9.2 [22]
  • new motion physics: 9.1 or 9.2 [23]
  • it’s completely possible Havok will appear in 9.1 or 9.2 [24]
  • tanks stuck on slopes might be fixed when new motion physics system is introduced (this system will be introduced in 9.1 or 9.2) [25]
  • Havok: 9.2 or 9.3 [26]
  • Havok will come after 9.1 [27]
  • it’s completely possible Havok will appear in 9.1 or 9.2 [28]
  • new motion physics: 9.1 or 9.2 [29]
  • tanks stuck on slopes might be fixed when new motion physics system is introduced (this system will be introduced in 9.1 or 9.2) [30]

Balancing

Spielmodi

  • WG knows that historical battles need serious rework and in patch 9.2, the entire mode will be temporarily removed from the game for rework. Developers are working on “a completely new CW concept with new features”, developers are also considering special PVE mode for historical battles. After the HB’s are reworked, there will be a special test only for them, like the stronkhold has now in order to gather detailed feedback [31]
  • Strongholds will appear either in 9.1 or 9.2 [32]
  • Storm confirms: 9.1 will bring new game mode for clans (SS: “Stronghold”) [33]
  • it’s possible that the Stronghold mode will not appear in 9.1, since WG wants to fix bugs completely first [34]

Panzer

  • patch 9.2 will bring many tank buffs [35]
  • in 9.2, “more complex approach” to rebalance will come (Storm adds: “if we manage to do it”) [36]
  • generally, in the future, all large caliber guns will make the vehicle easier to spot than it is now (0.9.0 oder 0.9.1) [37]
  • 12 of the worst tanks (statistically) will be buffed and 8 of the best will be nerfed [38]
  • Storm confirms: 12 tanks will be buffed in 9.1, 8 tanks will be nerfed [39]
  • Tiger I will be nerfed a bit [40]
  • in 9.2, there will be a “complex rebalance” of tanks, mainly tier 10: Leopard 1, FV4202, AMX50B [41]
  • in 9.2, only a few HD tanks will appear (SS: WTF, again?), while 9.3 will bring 20-25 HD tanks [42]
  • tier 10 tank destroyers will be rebalanced in 9.2 (at least WT E-100, FV215b (183)) [43]
  • confirmed that some tier 10′s will recieve minor buffs in 9.2, the exact nature of these buffs is not determined yet, they will appear on the test [44]
KV-1S
  • KV-1S will be split into two tanks, most likely in 9.2 [45]
  • KV-1S will be split into two tanks (SS: apparently in 9.2), one will be tier 6, the other tier 7 (SS: one of the variants is current KV-1S will be moved to tier 7, it will be like a “lighter IS”) [46]
  • the KV-1S info about the split into tier 6 and 7 was apparently not correct, it’s possible the split will be into tier 5 and 6 (SS: at this point, we have two sources of high reliability contradicting one another, the 5-6 version however seems more likely) [47]

Karten

  • this is not a hundred percent confirmed information, but it looks like the Murovanka map will get an overhaul in 9.2 For one, it will be made bigger from 800×800 to 1000×1000, there will also be more houses for cover and the landscape was changed a bit as well. [48]
  • patch 9.2 will bring “atmospheric Prokhorovka”, it was apparently reworked to resemble the atmosphere of the battle more closely [49]
  • in 9.2, El Halluf will be reworked [50]
  • in 9.2, Sacred Valley will return (“with this thing, you’re gonna love it”) [51]

HD-Modelle/Rendering

  • 9.2 will bring 15-20 HD tanks [52]
  • tank surface rendering (SS: if I understand it correctly) will most likely be fixed in 9.2 – this concerns specifically the surface colors of the tank [53]
  • the option to download (or to not download) HD content will come in 9.2 [54]
  • for now, Storm can’t say which models will exactly be made HD in 9.1, but IS and Churchill definitely will be amongst them, IS-3 too if I understand it correctly [55]
  • the choice for downloading or not downloading HD textures will apparently come with 9.1, same goes for enabling/disabling HD graphics and tank models [56]
  • “unfortunately, only few HD tanks will appear in 9.1 – which, I will tell later” [57]
  • hangar puts a lot of strain on the videocard, Storm states it will be optimized (in 9.1/9.2) [58]
  • few new HD tanks coming in 9.2 – because plans changed, the models were simply not made on time [59]

IS-3

  • IS-3 will be remodelled to HD in 9.1 [60]
  • HD IS-3 will come either in 9.1 or 9.2 [61]
  • IS-3 HD model will come in 9.2 [62]
